An international scholarship is awarded annually to one or two students to complete postgraduate study (Master’s degree (or equivalent) or PhD) at a university of the student’s choice in the United Kingdom.
Scholarships for Overseas Study Cecil Renaud
A total of 28 scholarships have been awarded to the best and brightest young South Africans since 1994. The Scholarship has previously been awarded to students at Cambridge, Oxford, and London universities across a variety of disciplines. Scholarships are available to KwaZulu-Natal secondary school graduates and students in their final year of a four-year undergraduate or postgraduate honours degree.
Criteria for entrance
- The applicant must be an undergraduate or honors graduate with a cum laude or summa cum laude degree and a Dean’s Commendation or Certificate of Merit.
- We want candidates who will have a significant impact on their field of study and on the world as a whole.
- ATTENDED SECONDARY SCHOOL IN KZN: Applicants must have completed a majority of their secondary schooling in KwaZulu-Natal and must be under 27 at the time of application.
- COLLEGE STUDY AT A SOUTH AFRICAN UNIVERSITY: This scholarship is available to undergraduate and postgraduate students at South African universities.
- FOCUS, COMMITMENT, STAMINA, AND LEADERSHIP: An impressive extracurricular record and a desire to succeed and uplift South Africa.
- Our former scholars have earned MPhils in Development Studies, MAs in Applied Theology, MScs in Mathematics, and MAs in Singing.
